Marin Grass-Fed Meat Company Home Page

Marin Grass-Fed Meat Co. has transitioned into an informal meat buying club (we might call it Marin Grass-Fed Meat Club, to be determined...).  While we are no longer operating a business, we are continuing to purchase locally, sustainably, and humanely raised grass-fed beef and lamb, and pasture raised pork.  We are willing to share this meat at cost with family, friends, and anybody else for that matter.

Here's roughly how this will work:

1) We will buy whole steers, lambs, pigs (and maybe a few other random types of animals from time to time).

2) We will email the "club members" announcing what we have bought and what our fully-loaded cost for the processed meat will be.

3) "Club members" can indicate their interest in getting some meat by emailing us, and upon confirmation that the desired meat is available, can reserve their meat either by sending us payment via PayPal or by bringing cash or a check when picking up the meat.

4) Available packages will include mixed-cuts at our average cost, as well as various other packages at higher or lower cost, depending on the specific cuts included.  See below for more specific package ideas.

5) Meat packages can be picked up at our house in Mill Valley at a mutually agreed upon date and time.  Alternatively, we would be willing to ship meat elsewhere in the greater Bay Area via FedEx, as long as the recipient assumes full responsibility for the shipment (in case it gets lost, etc.), and also fully covers the cost of the packaging and shipping, plus $5 for our time.

5) We may ask "club members" to sign a liability waiver, recognizing that we are not involved in the production or processing of the meat, and that we are not a business (to be determined...).

We expect to have beef available by the end of January, and including our own transportation expenses, we expect the average cost to be $7.25 per lb.  Here are the packages that we expect to have available:

Beef:
15 lbs of mixed beef, $7.25/lb
10 lbs of mixed steaks, $12.50
10 lbs of roasts, braising, and stew beef, $6.50/lb
5 lbs of ground beef, $5.50/lb

Lamb:
10 lbs mixed lamb, cost TBD

Pork:
10 lbs mixed pork, $7.50/lb

We will consider buying chickens, rabbits, etc., on occasion if there is interest.

Please contact us if you are interested in participating in our meat buying club.
